Privacy Policy
Effective September 21, 2026. Last updated September 21, 2026.
The short version. We collect what the app needs to keep score, show yardages, run your events and bill your subscription. Your golf activity is visible to the people in your rounds — that is the point of the product. We use location only while you are playing and only in the foreground. We do not sell your personal information. You can delete your account and your data from inside the app.

1. Who we are
This policy explains how Wire2Wire (“Wire2Wire”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Wire2Wire mobile app, companion watch apps, or this website (the “Service”). It works alongside our Terms of Service.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — name, email address, phone number and password credentials.
- Profile — profile photo, handicap index, home course and payment handles such as a Venmo or Cash App username, if you choose to add them.
- Golf activity — courses and tees played, hole-by-hole scores, putts, penalties, sand shots and fairway results, teams and matchups, tournament configuration, and the settings and outcomes of games and wagers.
- Contacts you select — when you invite somebody from your phone's address book, the entry you pick.
- Submissions and support — course requests, GPS tee and green anchors, map corrections and issue reports, plus any screenshot and round context automatically attached to a report, and any message you send us.
Information we collect automatically
- Location — precise device location while the app is open and you are in a round. See Section 6.
- Device and technical data — device model, operating system, app version, language, device and installation identifiers, push notification token, IP address, crash reports and diagnostic logs.
- Usage data — screens viewed, features used, actions taken and timings.
Information we receive from others
- App stores and our subscription provider — subscription status, entitlements, product identifiers and receipt validation results from Apple and Google. We never receive your payment card number.
- GHIN, if you link it — your handicap index, golfer identifiers, and official course and tee data from the United States Golf Association's handicap service, along with confirmation of scores posted there.
- Other players — if somebody adds you to a round before you have an account, the name and phone number they entered for you.
3. How we use it
- Run rounds and tournaments, and calculate scores, handicap strokes, standings and wager outcomes.
- Show live results to the players and followers of your events.
- Provide GPS yardages, hole maps and on-course features.
- Build, correct and review the shared course map database.
- Send notifications you have turned on, and invitations you initiate.
- Process and verify purchases, and apply entitlements to your account and the events you sponsor.
- Keep your history, statistics and handicap in sync.
- Provide support and respond to your reports.
- Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- Understand how the app is used so we can improve it, including through aggregated and de-identified analysis.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We may create aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify you and use it for any lawful business purpose, including research, improving mapping and scoring accuracy, and marketing material.
4. What other people can see
Wire2Wire is a shared scorecard, so some of your information is visible to others by design:
- People in your round or tournament see your name, profile photo, handicap index, hole-by-hole scores, match status, statistics for that round, and any wager you are part of.
- Followers of a tournament see leaderboards, results and participant names for that event.
- Players you share a wager with see any payment handle you have saved to your profile.
- Friends see your profile and the rounds you appear in through the social feed.
If you do not want something visible to your group, do not enter it.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — cloud hosting and databases, realtime messaging, push notification delivery, SMS delivery for invitations, map and satellite imagery, analytics and crash reporting, subscription management, and email.
- Apple and Google, for distribution, billing and receipt validation.
- The USGA's GHIN service, if you link your account, to sync your handicap and post scores you choose to post.
- Other users, as described in Section 4.
- Legal and safety — where required by law, legal process or a government request, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety or the integrity of the Service.
- Business transfers — if Wire2Wire is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6. Location
Location is used to show distances to the green, place you on the hole map, measure carries and layups, and let you contribute tee and green anchors for unmapped holes.
- We request location only when you use a feature that needs it.
- We use foreground location — while the app is open. We do not track you in the background or when you are not playing.
- You can decline or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Scoring, leaderboards and wagers all keep working; GPS features will not.
- Location submitted deliberately as a course map anchor becomes part of the shared course database, as described in our Terms.
7. Contacts and invitations
If you invite someone from your phone's address book, we access the entry you select in order to send that invitation and to link the person to the round. We do not upload your whole address book for advertising, and we do not sell contact data. The person you invite receives a text message from you through our messaging provider; if they never sign up, the invitation record is removed on our normal retention schedule.
8. How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account and profile | Until you delete your account, then removed or anonymised within 30 days. |
| Rounds, scores and results | Kept while your account exists. After deletion, records that are part of another player's round or tournament remain in that shared event with your identifying details removed. |
| Course and map submissions | Retained indefinitely as part of the shared course database, no longer linked to you. |
| Purchase and entitlement records | Retained as long as required for tax, accounting and audit obligations. |
| Logs, crash and diagnostic data | Typically 90 days. |
| Support messages | Up to 2 years after the issue is closed. |
| Aggregated and de-identified data | Retained indefinitely; it does not identify you. |
9. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction — view and edit your profile, scores and settings in the app.
- Deletion — delete your account from Profile, or follow the account deletion instructions. This is permanent.
- Permissions — location, contacts and notifications are all controlled in your device settings and can be revoked at any time.
- Marketing email — unsubscribe from any marketing message. We will still send essential service messages about your account.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — to a copy of your data in a portable form, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Residents of California and similar US states may request disclosure or deletion of personal information and will not be discriminated against for exercising those rights; note again that we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any of these, email spencer@driveupinvitational.com from the address on your account.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and hashed credentials, and we limit internal access to what is needed to run the Service. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International users
Wire2Wire is operated from the United States and your information is processed and stored there and in other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your own. By using the Service you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. If we make a material change we will update the effective date above and give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect.
14. Contact
